The Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation DRYING LITTLE TEARS funded two modern nursing beds for seriously ill children and young people at the Wuppertal hospice. The Bergisches Kinder- und Jugendhospiz Burgholz accompanies families with severely multiply disabled and life-limiting ill children from diagnosis through death and beyond, offering them professional support during one of life's most difficult phases.
The project emerged through the personal commitment of Kira, a Sixt employee, who became familiar with the facility through her volunteer work and recognized the need for modern nursing equipment. Through the company-wide initiative YOUR CAUSE. OUR COMMITMENT, she was able to turn her idea into concrete help.
The new nursing beds significantly improve the daily care of young patients and contribute to their physical and emotional well-being. The modern technology not only makes the work easier for nursing staff, but above all significantly increases comfort for children and young people during their treatment. The beds enable more individualized and gentler care in an environment where every day is precious.
