The Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation DRYING LITTLE TEARS supported the Caritas Baby Hospital in Bethlehem with the purchase of a modern warming bed and special syringes for optimal care of newborns. The state-of-the-art warming bed with integrated heating system keeps the body temperature of the smallest patients stable, relieves the heart and circulatory system, and promotes healthy weight gain. At the same time, it significantly reduces the risk of infection and creates a protected environment for an optimal start in life.
Additionally, ENFit syringes were purchased, which enable precise dosing of nutrition and medication. The Children's Aid Bethlehem in the German Caritas Association e.V. coordinates as a partner organization the support for the hospital through fundraising in Germany. The Caritas Baby Hospital has been the only children's hospital in the West Bank for over 70 years and treats around 50,000 children annually – regardless of religion or their families' financial situation. As an important pillar of the Palestinian health system, it provides life-saving medical care for the smallest and most vulnerable patients in the region.
