State-of-the-art medical technology saves little lives

Seriously ill babies and children at Caritas-Krankenhaus Bad Mergentheim now receive better treatment options: Thanks to a donation of 50,497 euros from the construction company LEONHARD WEISS and the Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation DRYING LITTLE TEARS, the children's clinic was able to purchase a special cooling system and a modern ventilator.

The new cooling system constantly monitors the body temperature of seriously ill newborns and automatically regulates whether they need to be cooled or warmed. This is particularly important for babies who received too little oxygen during birth. Through controlled cooling to 33 degrees, brain damage can be prevented and healthy development can be promoted. The new ventilator helps children breathe and is particularly gentle.

"Thanks to the donation from LEONHARD WEISS and the Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation DRYING LITTLE TEARS, we are now able to care for babies and children according to the most modern standards. For our teams and the families, this means a significant increase in safety," explains Chief Physician Dr. Saskia Wunderlich. The new devices enable first-class medical care right on site.
