The Data Science team at SIXT SE used their annual DRYING LITTLE TEARS Day to support the Johanniter nursery "Feenland" in Herrsching with their outdoor area renovation. The facility lovingly cares for 24 children aged nine months to three years in two groups.

In summery 25-degree weather, the data experts and IT specialists exchanged their usual office environment for physical work outdoors. Together they renewed the nursery's sandbox and replaced around 1.5 tons of old sand with fresh sand. Additionally, the volunteers stained several benches and a playhouse to make the outdoor area even more inviting for the little ones. SIXT provided the necessary materials such as paint, brushes and shovels as well as the new sand as donations in kind.

"We realized that the most important projects sometimes don't happen on screen, but are created with our hands," explained Iulia Pasov, Manager for IT and Data Development at SIXT. The beautification measures create a safer and more beautiful play area where children can develop their motor skills and play creatively.
